Battery issues? maybe..?

Ok so for the last couple of days, my phone will work for a little while and then, someone will call me and I answer and I hear nothing but silence....then I'll try to call them back and it wont ring, it does nothing, pure silence. Why is it doing this? I'm really starting to hate this phone :smileysad: this is my first blackberry and I loved it at first, but now it's so slow sometimes. People don't get my pictures through mms half of the time and I have to end up emailing them, it's a pain. I wish Verizon would get the iphone!

It sounds to be like something is wrong with the phone.Maybe the part where you hear someone, that piece might be defective. You could always exchange your phone. You have 30 days to try out a phone. Doubtful Verizon will be getting the iPhone. Verizon is more focused on Android now. If you switch phones, consider the Droid

I have a bb 8330 and I started having that problem too.  Sometimes when I made a call, I couldn't hear the ringing and/or the other person on the other end, but they could hear me.  Or when someone called me, it wouldn't ring, just beep once to tell me I have a missed call.  It was frustrating and looked online to find a solution.  Many just said to do a battary pull and things should go back to normal and it did.  The phone would work just fine.  It happened 2 or 3 times before I realised that the mysterious mute would occure right after I would recieve an mms voice message.  My sis-in-law and I like to send voice messages instead of text since you can say more.  I finally found some info on this problem and it's a common problem w/ certain bb devices.  I also found another solution instead of the battary pull.  Now when I reacieve a voice mms message and listen to it, I close it, delete it, and then click on the video icon on my bb and play a video for a few seconds, stop and close it.  Afterwards my phone is back to normal and I can recieve calls and am able to hear the other person on the other end.  It's not the phone, I think it's the software.

Blackberry running slow? Having trouble with MMS? Try pulling the battery every once in a while. At least once a day or more depending on how much you use it.

I would suggest that you purchase MeterBerry. It is a great app. Once you set it up, it will keep a running log of your memory, battery, and signal strength. You can set an alert if one of these areas drops below a predetermined value. It will also do a soft reset at a preset time like 4AM while your sleeping. With this information you'll better be able to figure out what is going on. I'm not sure of other vendors but if you purchase it form Crackberry or Mobihand, they keep a record so that you can re-send yourself the app in the future if you change operating systems or phones (provided the new phone is compatible with the app).

There is a free app called QuickPull Lite that you can download from Blackberry App World. You can schedule daily reboots, plus you can be notified if your memory falls below a certain level (default is 20mb).
