I was so excited to get this phone (considering my previous phone was being held together with scotch tape). I have had a ton of problems with it since I got it. I freezes and I get unexpected error messages; I get messages that my memory is full but I haven't added anything to the phone and it has like 3 pictures on it! How can the memory be full?! Plus it will ring twicwe on my end but the people that are calling me hear 8 or 9 rings.

I am so ready to ditch this phone, please help!! I received the email that an upgrade is available but I am afraid to add anything to it. I delete every email after I read it because I am afraid it will mess it up. I take the battery out all the time....I can't believe I paid so much for this phone and this is what I got!

Is your handset a Storm 1 or Storm 2? Did you get the Storm new from Verizon or did you buy a second hand one? If you got the phone from Verizon I would take into the store and tell them what is going on. I've never heard of problems like the ones your are experiencing. If you purchased it second hand, I would call the seller and demand your money back.

STORM 1 or STORM 2, same things apply.

I don't know what if anything you know about operating a BB. They do require constant maintenance. Do the following and report back.

First thing to do is see what applications are running the in background. Hold down the BlackBerry button and a small rectangle box will appear showing the applications that are currently in use. Some of the apps are always running: Phone, BB Messenger (if installed), Home, Browser, and Messages. If other apps you are not using are still running, close them. See if that helps open up some memory.

Many believe just exiting an app closes it. However, if you don't close/exit from apps such as viigo or ScoreMobile your memory is going to be eaten up by them.

Also open Browser and then click options, then you will see Cache Operations, click it and push every button in there to clear memory, one will ask for you to select delete or cancel, be sure and click delete. Then when you go to back your way out it, ( uturn button, next to red phone button) will say cleaning memory. You can also click on options and see how much memory you have now by scrolling down to Memory and clicking it and a small scroll will show how much is there. Then in options you can scroll down to Security Options , Advanced Security, and then Memory Cleaning. Then scroll down to Certificate search ,click it and then click it and then select clean now. Then have you ever cleared phone log? Push green phone button at bottom of phone then middle at the top of phone and look to the bottom right and there should be a big red X, keep clicking it until all calls are deleted.

Oh last thing is pull bat. and wait a few minutes and re install and then push red phone button and set aside until it all starts back up. Then push options and see how much memory you have. I got rid of Slacker radio and am only using Pandora radio, as I read Slacker was a cause of memory leaks.

I understand you are a bronze II but I have to disagree with you immensely on this one. I previously operated a 9530 and I had to constantly complete battery pulls or use quickpull every evening just to get my memory back up to 18mb from 518kb. I went to the 9550 and WOW! what a difference like night and day. I have zero maintenance on this phone (knock on wood) it has been superb to the 9530. The 9550 is quick in all faucets (maybe I am one of the lucky ones). Camera operation is 10x the 9530 as is the scrolling thru the home screen. So I would say "yes" it does matter if he has a 9530 or 9550. Oh, and I have had it since November 09 and have done one battery pull just to see if it raised my memory up any. It did a couple of MBs, I have at least 12 apps and the memory is never under 96.3mb.
