Is anyone having this issue (on any phone)?

Ever since the update to OREO (it NEVER did this in any previous updates), every time my phone tries to locate my position it makes a notification noise (multiple times).

There is no option anywhere to turn this off.  I've called Verizon Wireless customer service and escalated to level two and they can't find a way to turn it off.

They even connected me to HTC customer support.  They suggested a full phone factory reset.  That ain't going to happen.

Did Google mess up again?

Any insight on this?
