Thanks for the responses. I was able to update through Windows Insider.  It gave three options, “fast,” “slow,” and “safe.”  I did the “safe” one, then re-checked my Windows 10 Upgrade app.  It said the update was available, and in fact, it was already downloading because I had it set for automatic updates.

Having said that, it doesn’t seem right that we should have to bypass Verizon just to get a promised update.  The Windows Insider program says right up front it’s for testing new products, and you shouldn’t use it for a phone you’re depending on.  I was really hoping to get the “official” version so it would be fully supported.

Windows 10 mobile is much better.  It is an elegant OS.  It looks classy and it is fast and smooth.  There are more apps available in the Windows Store.  My hat is off to the programmers—they did a great job.  It is truly a shame that the whole effort has apparently gone down the tubes.

Due to the small number of users, Verizon Wireless tends to give much more time and attention to iOS and Android and less so to Windows (and Blackberry?).

This has me wondering what is going to happen if Microsoft produces Verizon Wireless variants of the expected Surface Phone next year. Will Verizon Wireless drag out patches & updates, thus prompting buyers to sign up for the Insider program?

From what I have seen so far concerning the HP Elite x3, it looks like that phone is not going to be compatible with Verizon Wireless. Specs printed at GSMARENA list "Networks" as GSM/HSPA/LTE. Apparently HP expressed interest in making a VZW compatible version, but nothing has been announced.

I thought I'd add some observations that I've had from working with W10 Phone OS for a few weeks now.

The built in calendar (Outlook?) did not work.  I went with the App "My Calendar" across my laptop, tablet and phone and have been satisfied.

I have at times had challenges with Outlook Mobile Email.  Sometimes it works fine other times it never works or I can't add attachments.

The past two days I have had several apps not work and after an initial screen the App jumps back to the home screen view.

Messaging has also been glitchy and sometimes does not allow attachments either.

Late this morning I checked for an update and there was one, so I installed it.  Hopefully this will fix some of these issues.

Seeing the news that Microsoft is ditching Nokia, I wonder if the W10 Phone OS will last?

I didn't have any problems with the update except that the Xbox app didn't work at first.  I sent feedback to that effect and quickly got an update to fix it.  I am very happy with Windows 10 Mobile.  I hope Microsoft continues to support it because I think they are on to something great.  From the articles I have read, it seems like Microsoft would have to, as they have put so much work into the universal app goal, and they are almost there.

Aaaaaaand..... I'm wrong!  Never been happier to be so wrong too!!  My Lumia 735 is updating to W10M right now.

You need the Update Advisor app to enable it. Once the Update Advisor (Microsoft Store - free) identifies the update it enables the general Phone Update to find and download/install Windows 10 Mobile onto your Lumia 735. If you don't use the Upgrade Advisor app then the Phone Update will simply report that you're up to date and that no new software is available.

The update from Win 8.1 to Windows 10 is available now. First download, install and run Upgrade Advisor from the store and follow the directions.

The 1st update will install 10586.218 and the next day install 10586.318 which is the same as the desktop version

Looks like Verizon has also updated their software updates pages with the Windows 10 upgrade information for the Lumia 735. It appears to have been released on 6/2/2016.

Is it possible to revert back to Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 10 Phone?  Between texts not sending or being received, and not receiving calls, I need OUT of the Insider Program!  Either that or my wife makes me go back to my old iPhone!

Check out this link:

Here's how to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 after checking out the Windows 10 phone preview | Windows...

You also might try a hard reset to stay on WM10.  It's not as bad as you think because Microsoft backs up everything and then restores it.  I'm sorry to hear you are having so many problems as I have been very happy with WM10 so far.  You didn't try one of the prototype builds, did you?  I took the safe one, and I am on OS build 10.0.10586.338, which I think is what the carriers finally pushed within the last week or so.

Open the Windows Insiders application and opt out of the previews.
