Will Verizon roll out wifi calling for the iPhone 5S? It was reported earlier in the year that this would happen, but now the Verizon site says only iPhone 6 and newer will be enabled for this function..

Here's Apple page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203032
Specifically, it says:
"To use Wi-Fi Calling, you need an iPhone 5c or later on a supported carrier."
Verizon is of course listed as a supported carrier, with these features:
- FaceTime over Cellular
- LTE
- Personal Hotspot
- Unlocking
- Visual Voicemail
- VoLTE
- Wi-Fi Calling
Based on this, it'd seem that while the phone is capable of wifi calling, Verizon doesn't enable it on the 5c and 5s.

I definitely understand the eagerness to have this feature on your phone mjc1of5. I want to double check this for you. Do me a favor and post a link to where you read this on our site.

It is highly likely that Apple isn't supporting wifi calling on an older model like the iPhone 5s.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
