First of all trying comparing apples to apples. Share Everything is unlimited texting and minutes. Virgin's plans with Unlimited texting and minutes is $55 not $35. Also with Share Everything hotspot is included, Virgin charges $15 for that. So that's $70. I also love how that advertise "unlimited data" then state in the fine print you only get 2.5 or 3.5 GB of "full speed" data. Also there are plenty of place you can't even get Virgin mobile. Like any place within 60 miles of me. Also consider how many more places Verizon has 4G compared to Virgin.

4G coverage kind of loses it's appeal when you're on a low tiered data plan but as you said Virgin Mobile's coverage area is a joke since they use Sprint.  No thanks.

I am so glad I already have my plans locked in. This share everything plan is a Consumer rip off.  Verizon is trying to get rid of Unlimited Data and trying to use this share everything plan to trick people into switching plans and losing their Unlimited Data. The trickery is in advertising Unlimited Calls, Unlimited Text, Shared Data most people tend to think that they are getting Unlimited Data on this as well when in reality, you are giving up Unlimited Data, and even worse, if you have Multiple lines on your plan and each of those lines is a Smartphone, if you go to the share everything plan, you are now getting 2 GB of data to share among all of your smartphone lines.

The huge problem I have with this is that on my phone I am using a Data Tracking program to see where all of my Data is used.  I use slightly over 2.5 GB of data per month on my phone, and just over 5 GB of data on my sons phone.

On both of these phones 1.93 and 1.96 GB of data are absorbed by the BLOATWARE Verizon puts on my phones.

I classify BLOATWARE as programs I will never use, that I cannot get rid of, and that take up space on my phone or use resources on my phone.

The Major culprits for using the Data on my phones are as follows (and I do NOT use any of these)

Backup Assistant (I actually had to change the password on Backup Assistant so my phone could not connect.

Amazon Kindle

Amazon MP3

Blockbuster

My Verizon Mobile (I classify this program as MALWARE on top of BLOATWARE as the program hounds you to sign in     so it has a purpose on your phone. I have never once signed into this app.

Slacker Radio

SlingBox

Verizon Video

VZ Navigator (honestly why would anyone need VZ Navigator on their Android Phone when they have Free Navigation, yet this app uses 300 MG of data per month on each of my phones.

NFL Mobile

I have been with Verizon for well over 14 years (Back to the LA Cellular days) and when I am forced to give up my unlimited Data Plan, or when I am forced into one of these Share Everything Plans, it will be the last day I am with Verizon Wireless.

The only thing Verizon Wireless has been able to do with their elimination of Unlimited Data (especially with forcing the BLOATWARE) is to make sure people do NOT renew Contracts or purchase phones from Verizon anymore.

With Virgin Mobile, you will pay full price for the iPhone, whereas VZW offers it subsidized.  So if you compare the $70 monthly fee on Virgin to the $100 monthly fee on VZW (as close to comparable as I'll get), you save $30/month on Virgin, or $720 over two years.  If you deduct the ~$449 price difference that you will pay for the Virgin Mobile iPhone, the savings come down to $271.00.  At that point, you have to evaluate coverage and customer service issues in deciding what each deal is worth.

full price on virgin vs 199 subsidized on verizon is only 300 difference. you'll save that over 3 months on virgin/straight talk/any other mvno and you'll get almost 2.5 the amount of data.

doesn't sound like a headache to me....

Wow... so share everything is a huge big trick? You're saying that most people won't recognize that data isn't unlimited on it, even though they have to choose the amount of data they are allowed each month? I have to say I disagree, even if people start out thinking it's unlimited data they will learn that it isn't while they are choosing the price plan. As far as data usage is concerned on the pre-loaded apps, I'm guessing that you have automatic updates turned on. Either turn off automatic updates or if your phone lets you set it to only update on wifi and that will save you a good bit of data. Also any data used through the myvzw mobile or vzw.com should not be counting against your billed data.

I am a little confused by your post. You said that you do not use those programs, yet they account for almost 2 GB of data per month on your phone? Are you sure you are not talking about space on the internal memory card, or actual data throughput? They are totally different. You mentioned about them using the space, that is why I am confused.

Blockbuster, Slacker Radio, Verizon Video, etc, all of those would require you to login to their respective systems, and actually start to stream their content. Can you tell me what program you use to track their usage?

Please help me understand what you are talking about.

Its an option some can consider. After 10 months they've boken even on the deal and can move on. if they sign a new contract with Verizon they don't have the option of leaving without penalty for 2 years.
