voicemail forwarding

I'd like to forward my voicemails to my work phone (so I can keep them long-term). The instructions say to enter a 10 digit voicemail box number or a distribution list number. I've tried entering the phone number that I'd like the message to go to, but it bounces back. Can voicemails only be forwarded to another cell phone? Thanks!

You can set up a no answer/busy call forwarding which basically will forward the call if the line rings too many times to the original cell phone you are forwarding with. Otherwise you can have it don eimmediately, either way you can forward a call to any number as long as it's a valid number.
