selling iphone

Hello,

I just talked to a customer service rep, but I don't feel comfortable with his answer. I want to sell an iphone that I still owe money on under a device agreement.  I actually had to get a new phone so I don't need this one.  The rep said I could not sell as I still owe money on it, but another user on this forum asked that question and the Verizon rep said there that you could sell.  I am still comfortable making the payments for the device.  So-can I sell the device or not?  If so, do I need to do anything as far as Verizon is concerned?  Can I sell to anyone?  Thanks for any help!

Selling something you don't own is a bad idea.

If someone is interested, collect the money and pay the phone off right away either through My Verizon or an agent.

Ideally, pay it off first before even offering to sell. *I* wouldn't feel comfortable buying a phone from someone that they still owe on.

TOMIFO That is a great question. If the device is not active on your account and you continue to make payments you can sell it. However, if you don't have a device to put on that line and you remove the phone the entire balance will become due. Does this help clarify?
