line access fee for an added line on More Everything plan

We have the More Everything Plan (month to month on 3 devices- which I will be calling CS to ask for that discount, didn't know I had to do that) but am looking to add a 4th line. We haven't purchased the new smartphone yet, trying to determine what the line access fee will be per month for that new device/line. If we buy the phone outright instead of paying for it over time, will we have a lower line access fee or higher?

Thank you for any help.

If the month to month discount is not still available to be added to lines not currently under contract and you are paying $40/month line access fees on all of your lines, you would definitely be able to save money on the Verizon Plan.

More Everything x 4 smartphone lines @ $40/line for line access fees = $160/month just for line access fees. Then add on top of that the cost of your 6 GB data plan.

On the Verizon Plan with $20/month line access fees and an 8 GB data allowance, your total bill before taxes/fees would be $150/month [(4 x $20 line access fee) + $70 for 8 GB of data] That is less than just your line access fees on the More Everything Plan without any line access fee discounts. If you are unable to add any line access fee discounts to your More Everything Plan, you should definitely switch to the Verizon Plan. You would also benefit from getting carryover data on the Verizon Plan.

How much data do you have/use on that plan?  You can cut your line access fee to $20/line (and the added line will be $20 whether you buy the phone outright or use a DPP), and probably save on the data bucket too.

You'll have the added benefit of carryover data (any plan data not used will carryover and be available the following month, if you happen to have a data heavy month).  And then Safety Mode if you choose - it just slows the data after you use your plan data, avoiding overages.  You can still use the slow data with no overage fee.

Compare plans, in most cases the newer plans are more cost effective.

The base smartphone line access fee on the More Everything Plan is $40. Verizon used to offer a month to month discount for lines not under a service contract which you used to be able to manually add in your MyVerizon account. Then you were only able to add that discount by calling in to CS. I am unsure if you can still call in and request that discount, but it may still be possible. If you cannot still add that discount, your line access fee would be $40 unless you purchase a new device and get the discount associated with the device payment plan.

If the month to month discount is not available by calling in, you would probably save money by switching to the new Verizon Plan.

We have the 6GB plan. We don't need the Unlimited Plan. Just getting killed with these $40 line access fees. Would like to upgrade the other devices that are currently on the plan (all are eligible) but trying to figure out the most cost efficient way to do it. Thanks for your response.

Do you automatically get the $20 line access fee on the new plan just for switching plans or is it if you upgrade devices? The plan that they are offering is the L plan (8g). I don't really need the carryover data. Thanks!

All lines not under a service contract will be paying a $20 line access fee on the Verizon Plan. You only pay a $40 line access fee if a line is under a service contract.
