whatever you do, do not deactivate your vzw number before sprint activates or ports number to sprint or it will be a nightmare.establish promos and deals with sprint first. if you cancel vzw number before new sprint, your numbers history. i been through it once.

Since you are month to month and you don't owe a balance for a device, you will not have an ETF or a have balance you have to pay.  You will have one or two final bills from VZW that will be mailed to the address on record so don't forget to open them and pay them if it shows you owe money for your service plan and/or usage charges.  I would suggest porting your number to Sprint near the end of your Verizon Wireless billing cycle.  The port process actually cancels your account for you.  VZW doesn't prorate the service so you will be charged for the entire billing cycle.  You might as well get your full money's worth.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I'm canceling to...SO angry and sick to death of being lied to!  They "helped" me upgrade to a new phone a year ago and "sold" me on the idea that my bill would stay the same and the BEST part is that once per year if a new phone came out I could trade it in to get the newest phone.

What a line of BULL....first of all the bill went up $30 a month and when I called to complain they said they don't know why that happened. second....OH you can trade your phone in but pay $400 for a phone they will only give you $200 for.  That is a complete LIE they told me.

I'm calling Sprint today!  There are too many companies out there that will buy your contracts I don't have to be lied to and pay rediculous amounts that I was promised wouldn't happen.

Call a supervisor ...LOL yeah right I got the rudest "gentleman" I ever talk to that basically said well sorry but we can't help you and you are more than welcome to leave.

So much for "The last thing we want is to see you leave our family. "
