Why would I keep getting charged ten dollars for VZ Navigator every month for the past two years either automatically or fraudulently. I have the app purchase option blocked on both the phone and computer but yet it still shows up on my bill every month. Could this something fishy? Anyone else have this problem?

this is not considered an "app purchase", this is a feature that is provided by Verizon Wireless, so having that block in place will not help with this situation. blocking app purchases is to prevent kids (or adults) from inadvertently purchasing additional services within an app (i.e. tokens, lives, gems for games).

You can cancel your subscription at any time from within the app or from the Products & Apps page in My Verizon.
- From the VZ Navigator app:
- Open the VZ Navigator app.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap Preferences.
- Tap Advanced.
- Tap My Account.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap Unsubscribe.
Notes:
- These steps may vary by device or OS.
- Uninstalling VZ Navigator from your device doesn't cancel your subscription. You'll need to unsubscribe from VZ Navigator from the app or the Products & Apps page in My Verizon to successfully cancel it.
- From My Verizon:
- Go to the Products & Apps page in My Verizon.
- Click the Manage Your Products tab at the top of the page.
- Select the line that you want to remove VZ Navigator from.
- Scroll to VZ Navigator, and then click Remove from Account.
- Review the changes and bill impacts on the confirmation pop-up and then click Remove Product to confirm the transaction.

As was stated in the complaint I have blocked app purchases on both the phone and the web. This has been gone over again with several layers of your support staff. I should not have the app on there much less have to remove it. This is being done fraudulently and needs to be taken care of. If you can not get it done please turn it over to someone who can. I shouldn't have to spend twenty minutes of my time every month getting the charges removed.

this is a community forum, the person that replied is not a Verizon employee, but instead someone trying to help you. have you contacted Verizon about it? because once it's removed it won't come back unless you access it and agree to add the feature.

Sorry about that. I have reported it to several levels of support and management at Verizon each time told it was taken care of. Yet it still shows up EVERY month. I have no other choice but to say it is intentionally fraudulent.

VZ Navigator is a "app purchase" this is copied from the Version web site that has to be "purchased" for 4.99. "VZ Navigator® is a Location Based Service (LBS) app"

You are probably correct, could be a firmware problem. I hadn't thought about that. On this line I am using a nine year old LG 8300 flip phone that I love.
Thanks

Overchargedagain,
I know how important it is to have an accurate bill. Based on your previous posts I see you have been trying to get this resolved for a while now. Just to make sure are you or have you used the Navigation services on your phone using the application? Due to it being being an app provided by Verizon once you have enabled the service you are charged a monthly fee. However, you do have the option of accessing your account online to remove this charge and feature from your account. Have you done this as well?
