Why does the sender show as phone number@vtext.com?

Since the last two weeks messages to and from my wife on the same group account don't show up as the person's name (they used to) or as the phone number but as *****@vtext.com. Note the messages are using default texting apps on iPhone and Galaxy with no computer sending or receiving. We are in each others' contact list of course.

Any ideas what's causing this or how to correct it?

Sounds like it is treating the message as though it is being delivered via email to text instead of text to text OR check the address book on the phone and see if there is an entry with phone number and ...@vtext.com perhaps it may be looking up the phone number in address book and finding that entry instead of one with name.

On the iPhone go to settings, messages, send & receive, tap the arrow on right. Be sure the phone number is the only thing checked.
