When my device is paid off is it unlocked?

My Galaxy Note 5 will be paid off next year in September and my question is once it's paid for will it be unlocked and if not can Verizon unlock it? Please let me know.

All Verizon devices are unlocked when you buy them. There is no need to get it unlocked. There was a time they were locked, but not any longer. Your Note 5 was never locked and any SIM can be put in and as long as the phone is compatible with the frequencies required on another carrier, it will work.
