What is up with my lack of service?

Here am I – clinging to CC, my Catahoula Leopard Dog in below zero temperatures, you see I am also elderly and disabled with NO active cellular phone service. I have been a customer of Verizon Wireless for over five years my bills due date is 12/13/18 but as of yesterday morning Wednesday, December 12, 2018 I am unable to make outgoing phone calls but I am able to receive them. I also can not use the text messaging function (in going and/or outgoing). I have both of my parents with cancer (one being terminal) - I myself being a warrior twice over am truly Blessed regardless - I understand the gravity that your cellular phone service provides - this is my lifeline with them. WHAT IS UP?

I am in Westchester County, New York and since the leaves came off the trees, my Sirius Radio has gotten better, but Verizon Cell service has gone away. After reaching out to Verizon, the did several things to my phone including New sim card and factory reset to my phone and that didn't help.. So they sent me a reconditioned phone (Samsung S9+ which mine was only 9 months old to begin with), I got the phone and the same issues continue to happen, Maybe Verizon is helping Sprint & AT&T get more customers.

depends where you live, maybe in an area affected by recent weather & cell towers are down.
