I am trying to compare my current plan with the new Verizon Plan. Unfortunately, there isn't any information about the charge for data over the selected amount. For example what happens if you selected 6GB and you go over it -- what is the charge?
Please provide a link to a page the describes the overage charges.

$15 per 1gb or portion thereof.

The biggest gotcha in moving to the Verizon plan is if you have phones under contract, if so the device access charge is $40 for those devices under contract (until contract end). If you have devices not under contract it is $20 and if on device payment plan the device access charge is $20 (which may be $5 more than you are currently paying for them).
