I sometimes get a call from a telemarketer peddling Las Vegas vacations. Just when I say "take me off your list," they hang up. A few weeks later, I get the same exact call (different person, same script). What can be done about calls like this? Luckily it does not happen as often as it used to, but it is still annoying when it does.

Noverator,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with unwanted calls. We certainly want you to always have a peaceful option with us. We do have options to block numbers on your Myverizon account http://vz.to/YDkukV. We also suggest that you sign up for the Do Not Call registry list. You can do so here http://1.usa.gov/1hZ9Qv5. Let us know if you need anymore assistance with this.
Thank you,

A new law went into effect last month that gives consumers more power over this.

I just rec'd a call from 800-600-1228 telling me I'd "won" something and Verizon was going to deduct $71 from my bill. Anyone else get that too?

EVERYONE else has been getting those. There are several threads about it already.
It's a scam.

Thanks! I tried a search on "vz71" but didn't find anything. Glad I asked here. Figured it was a scam.

I have also been getting these calls. They have come daily, for the last month, from 800 numbers but with different last 4 digits each time. That makes it impossible to add to my block call list. I have been registered on the Do Not Call list for years, I just checked again to make sure, and this is the first time I have been bombarded with these calls. Very annoying to say the least.

I share the same sentiment. I used to get calls like that, too, and it's annoying how persistent they are. They never listen to requests to stop. They're just unbelievable!
