What are the penalties if I cancel my services before the contract is over?

I have 2 phones in a family plan and I am looking to cancel 1 of the phones before the contract is up. What are the penalties if I cancel my services before the contract is over?

  It depends on the type of phone, and how long you have had it. I think it is $350-$10 for every month paid for a smartphone, and $175-$5 for every month paid for a basic phone. So if you have had a basic phone for 12 months already, and you wanted to cancel it, it would be $175-($5x12=$60)=$115. This is just an example, I do not know how long you have had the phone(s) that you want to cancel, and what type they are.

Plus it is based on the phone type purchased when the contract was last renewed.  If the customer purchased a smartphone, but then activated a basic feature phone on that line two month later, the ETF would be based on the smartphone not the feature phone.
