WARNING: POSING AS VERIZON TECH

I received a call that showed up on my caller ID as Verizon claiming that there where multiple error messages on my computer and that it would eventually lockdown if it wasn't taken care of. He gave his Verizon ID number and name. I gave him remote access to my computer to fix the problem. I became suspicious when I gave him my credit card information to pay the one time fee for the service and he said a debit card was preferred. I immediately called Verizon on conference call to confirm his Verizon ID number and name and he hung up. When I called the number he used to call me there was an official Verizon recording.  By that time he had made a few purchases. I cancelled all my credit cards so no major damage there and sent my laptop out to be cleaned. Just be careful of technicians claiming to be from Verizon.
