Voice messages delivered days later

This is an issue I have had with V for years.    Not a new issue.

Over this time I've had 5-9 separate phones.  Not phone specific.

I am in the DC metro area where there is loads of coverage.  Not a coverage issue.

I am usually outside - not in a building or basement.  Not out of signal.

When I receive a voice message from a caller, the message is delivered usually over the weekend.  I notice that my voice mailbox becomes full with the accumulated messages.  There is no indication of a call on my phone at the time of the call.

I've left contacted V numerous times and they see an 'opportunity' to resolve this.  Nothing has been done.

I have been contacted by numerous V people who 'want to help' then discover that they are powerless and lack any authority to resolve the problem.  One of them gave me an extra 200 minutes on my plan where I rarely use 60% of my minutes.  Well intended but absolutely worthless.

I am in a business where I am usually responding to business emergencies.  Missing 1 call or message means losing $$$$$.  I estimate that my lost business would pay for my V bill several times each year.

Verizon understands how to structure plans to extract maximum $$$$ while providing basic service.

What can be done?

Have you tried updating your PRL by dialing *228 send and option 2? (If not, do so. This will eliminate this process, if further trouble shooting has to be done)  It should be done at least every 30 days.  This will update your phone, so that you can hit the towers available to you. Also you may want to do a battery pull, while your phone is powered on.  This will reset your phone.  HTH!  If not, I would recommend you take the phone to a store to have a Tech look at it.
