I started service with this provider when the company was BELL ATLANTIC. That was a long time ago. Over the years, this company went from offering the best customer service and deals to being downright horrible. I have watched the monthly plans increase, the unlimited data packages disappear, and dealt with terrible customer service. During my last purchase, I was told that I would be charged a $30 upgrade fee. I was completely stunned as I have NEVER heard of a business charging someone to continue patronizing that business! And perhaps if the service were cheaper, that could be justified. However, Verzion is FAR from cheap and if they are not the most expensive provider, they certainly must be one of them. I went to send an email to customer service and realized that there is no longer such an option; it has been replaced by CHAT. Well, that's nice and all, but what happens when you consistently try to use this chat function and all reps are BUSY?? I have a family plan with 3 lines and I find this level of service for the money I pay totally unacceptable. This two years will be my last.
The upgrade fee has been in place since April 2012.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
They have had industry leading net adds over the past 9 quarters..guess they people that get paid millions of dollars a year understand things a bit more than you
What they understand is that as of right now, because Verizon has a much better network, they can get away with things that they might not otherwise do. Case in point back tracking on phone subsidies, previously known as "New Every Two", for Unlimited Data customers. Verizon is the only carrier to pull this stunt on their "grandfathered" customers.
What I look forward to is ATT and Sprint finaly building out and upgrading their networks to the point where they equal and surpass Verizon's. ATT has 21 applications for new towers with three recently approved in my city, and this reflects the major push they are in the process of executing.. So they are well on their way to doing what they need to do. Sprint will need more time, but they are also doing what they need to do and could have the greatest potential to turn the tables if they can build out and upgrade their network to take full advantage of their spectrum.
