Verizon doesn't care no matter how long you've been with them

Dear Verizon,

I've always been a fellow advocate of your products, and services. Whats not to love about getting cell phone coverage out in the country, and 3g almost anywhere? I do however work at another cell phone company, I just don't get coverage where I live with that particular company. Paying extras no problem while I'm in school, I need the internet to keep updated and email teachers. However, I do know what I'm talking about, and when I walk into a business and can already tell you I know more about your business and how things are ran, we have problems. As inadequate as the Rep was, its mind boggling how nothing is there fault, or were they willing to help me out.

I went into the the store and asked when my contract was up on my line so i could port out my fathers line, because I get a discount where I work there no reason not to use it for him. They said his line was already out of contract, and tried to get him into a new 2 year agreement. A little over three weeks go by and i get a 70$ early termination fee. This would of been no big deal if they would of told me I was still in contract, matter of fact I don't think I would of broken the contract. The real problem is when I confronted them about the situation that happen they acted as if it was all my fault, and i shouldn't of ported my number out, which has no effect on the account if your already out of contract. So its now 210$ to cancel my line with Verizon, which I will be doing regardless if they took off the charges or not. So 6 loyal years have now ended because of how minuscule there customer service has made me feel, and poor customer service is handled. When no one has answers to your problem and tell you to call 611, and then 611 tells you to go to the store; I'm out. Goodbye

Wait so who ported out? The contracts can be different per line, so they may haev looked at the wrong line when you asked about the contract. Either way this was a rep error of not telling you the correct information. Sucks because you have no way proving what they said.

If you're out of contract, there is no early termination fee. 70 dollar early termination fee means that you had 3-4 months left and a basic phone was on that line.

I know that, I ported out , because they told me it was done. So it doesn't matter about the contract anymore and become an issue with the Rep. Basically each store get "X" amount of dollars to spend on comps, new activations, mess ups ect. They basically didn't want to take the hit on the store is what it all comes down to. Then customer care says i have to go to the store, and in return the store told me to basically suck it up or call customer care . It has been the worst experience I have ever delt with personally , and i have never complained to get my bill lower or anything in the past 6 years so I'm gone.

ATT doesnt care how long you've been with them

cox doesnt care how long you've been with them

your eletricity company doesnt care

your gas station doesnt care

your grocery store doesnt care

your car insurance might care , a little.

Just because uncle  tommy gives you a discount because he's been cutting your lawn for years doesn't mean a large company would. And why should they?

You are right. No one cares how long you've been with a company anymore. Loyalty is overrated. It's all about the dollar and how much more Verizon and other company can get out of you. That's fine cause everyone is free to leave and change companies as they see fit. It's your money.

Why should they care? Because eventually, if enough people leave, they will be a smaller company. Customer satisfaction is always a good thing to keeping your customers.

But they don't care,  because cell phone carriers are constantly rotating customers anyway.

It's like what came first. Chicken or the egg. Because customers are constantly rotating, companies don't feel the need to keep their customers happy. Customers rotate because companies don't try harder to keep our business. Hmmmm...

I couldn't agree more.  At one point Comcast was the only game in town.  They stopped caring.  When Verizon came in, people moved to Verizon in droves.  Now Comcast is begging people to come back and admitting they had become arrogant.  Now the tables have turned.  Verizon is nickle and dimeing and ignoring any complaints.

I am going back to AT&T for my wireless and Comcast for the TV, computer and land phone.

quarter after quarter after quarter verizon is growing customers faster than their competition.. they might be doing something right

I cant even find a quarter where they had a net gain in the negative (new customers-people that left)

I know what you mean about verizon; they don't care about you.  We have been with them for 10 years and this will be our last.  I will find one that has no contract and and no RIP OFF DATA PLAN, we don't even use data and yet we both have to pay 30.00/60.00 a month for something we don't use.  I have up until this round been very happy with them and recommended them, not anymore.  When this contract is up we are moving on.
