I consider the Edge plan to be a bad financial choice for any customer that choose it, however they do state the following on the main Edge page:
"After 6 months, with at least 50% of your phone’s price paid off, you’re eligible for upgrades."

False Advertising - I will let the FCC sort out whether the complaint is valid or not.

It will work for me, because I usually use my phone for a couple of years anyway.
I have been a Verizon Customer for over 7 years and Alltel before that for 4, so this is just bad advertising and demonstration for misleading advertising by a company.

Im a bit curious.
What was the point in filing a complaint?
If you dont like the program why get involved?
You have an old phone. What difference does it make?

Interesting response.
The complaint is false advertising.
Upgrade Anytime, No Contracts.
You are basically saying, its ok to advertise a product to get a customer in the door, if you don't like the fraud used to get you in the door to waste your time, then why did you walk in the door in the first place.

I filed the complaint because Verizon has been advertising -- Upgrade your Phone anytime you want, No Contracts.
But when you actually go through the process, you cannot upgrade your phone anytime you want or you have to get into a new arrangement. Which is the opposite of the advertisement, so it is misleading.

They have not advertised ANYTHING, as today is the first day with the new program.

The advertising for this program has been ongoing for at least a month, for it has been displayed on the main Verizon Wireless page for at least this long.
So, yes, they have been advertising for this program for quite a while.
Yes, the program started today.
