Are you sure that's the dates of when everything reset and not when billing is due(these dates are different)? So you could have went over since its your first month and the bill was prorated.

I Am positive. The iPhone has a setting section called cellular and it keeps track specifically what each app and system service uses.  I keep very close track of my usage and utilize wifi at my house and work. I download all my music to my device and never stream. My data usage is from using the internet. I am 100% positive this is what happened. When you go on my Verizon you can see the date time and amount of data you used. I added it all up from the day I bought the phone to the 26th and got 1.3. Exactly what I had on my iPhone. Or very close to it. The rep could not explain where the .7 plus of usage went. There's no record of it like all my other usage. And so I started to dig and there are a lot of people who have had this exact problem.

I beleive what they are talking about is the overage. They used .3GB over and they had to pay for 1GB of overage at $15. They just want to pay for the .3GB is what I gather from it all

I have no remourse due to the fact this stuff is written up and outline in multiple places. All carriers including T-Mobile have done this since the introduction of data plans in a PPU format. They do this with minutes for the longest time and still do too.

Little tidbit of information. Carriers changed the overage fee which made things cheaper. They used to charge $2 per MB. If you can keep under 7MB it would be cheaper but with the way you went over you'd like the new way they do it.

SYmpathy is the word you're looking for and I'm not looking for any. Not one person has understood what I was trying to convey. If I went over my data allowance I would happily pay the overage fee. That's not the issue. The issue is the fact I didn't go over. Not even close. But Verizon rounds your usage to the nearest GB. So if you use 1 mb over 1 GB it would show you used 2 GB. Then by some chance after they rounded my usage, some of the data I used on contracted cell sites which is typically delayed to show on your usage made me go over. And the delayed data was way under the amount had left. That's why I am unhappy.  I had over half a GB left and should never have gone over. The point of my original post was to see if other customers have had similar problems, not receive a barrage of unnecessary opinions from all you Verizon fanboys.

You know it makes no difference how many opinions you receive from "fanboys" as you stated. The data usage situation is what it is.

You have let's say 2 GB of data, you use 1.9 GB of data and then you turn your device on in the morning. It now jumps to 2.1 GB of used data. By Verizon's accounting that .1 is going to cost you $10-$15 in overage fees. It is what you agreed to on accepting service.

Now you have a 2 GB of data and say you use 1.5 GB so you now did not use that .5 GB yet Verizon is not going to carry it over as a credit to next month, nor will they reduce your invoice for it.

Again it is what you agreed to on getting service.

Now let's go another sceinero you have a 2 GB data alottment and you use 1.5 GB and you are under your plan amount. Or so you think. Let's say you went out of the Verizon areas or a cell tower took you since it was stronger and then Verizon gets a delayed notification of the data use. Now you think its fine for the billing period but delayed billing now puts you over and you have to pay overage fees.

In some cases if you already went into a new cycle Verizon will subtract from available plan data. Again this could cause you to go over.

If theses answers don't appeal to you there are Sprint & TMobile that offer unlimited data. I would just port out to them.

Both pay early termination fees via a gift card after you pay the fees to your present carrier.

That is the way it is. You have choices. Use them!

Like I said before did you get the device before your cycle started or AFTER your cycle started? Are you sure the date of your cycle isn't being confused with your billing cycle?

What I notice is that sometime reporting can be up to 6 hours later. So you need take that into account the last 6 hours on the last day of the billing period that it may go over into the next one. Also yes if you go even 1 MB over you're getting charged for a whole GB. I disagree with that. I think it should be prorated. Of course $15 per GB is ridiculous anyway. I understand it's supposed to be a deterrent, but you could have $5 per GB over and have it be a deterrent. Going from 4 to 6, 6 to 8 and 8 to 10 GB is $5 per GB anyway

TThere is no way that there was data I didn't know about Because the iPhone keeps track of all data used regardless of where the data comes from. It doesn't distinguish Verizon or contracted Verizon towers. But it does keep track of ALL data used. That's why my phone showed slightly higher than what Verizon showed. But it wasn't even close to 2 GB. I got the phone on the 26th of september and October 26th was the end of it.  I called Verizon this morning and again he had no explanation For me. So I decided to just see what happens next billing cycle.
