So, I want to get a new phone. Two of my lines are ok to upgrade, but has unlimited data. My wifes line doesnt.
I want to transfer my upgrade to her line.
However, I would like to purchase the phone at a different retailer.
Can you do the upgrade transfer at any retail store or do you have to go to a verizon store?
Thanks!

I transferred the upgrade from my Unlimited line to a second line (dumb phone line) at Best Buy just last week. This allowed me to keep my Unlimited data plan on my primary line (Razr Maxx HD) and buy a new Galaxy S4 for the second line. We then swapped the SIM cards as I wanted the S4 on the primary line and my son gets to use the Razr Maxx HD (assuming he can afford the data charges).
So I do know that transfers are possible at least at Best Buy. Just make sure the rep is aware of your intentions. FYI, Best Buy also price matches other stores, I got them to honor the Target ad price ($129.99) which was a savings of $70 compared to the Verizon cost at the time.
Good luck.
