SPAM calls being blocked, but still receiving the annoying voicemail

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there having this issue but Verizon has this new "Call Filter" product which is to block the SPAM calls and it does, but you still get the voicemails from them. Anyone have a way of not receiving the annoying voicemail also? Besides using the wonderful "here we'll only block 5 numbers" for you for 90 days. That might works if these robo calls used the same number all the time. Kinda defeats the purpose of blocking the call if they can still leave a VM and you have to go delete them. Block these calls before they even get to our device and VM system. Lets go Verizon!!!

lumbreit,  we can certainly understand your concerns. Unwanted calls are never a fun thing to have to deal with. It does get tricky on blocking numbers when they call from all different numbers. It sounds like you have used all our blocking options. Unfortunately, at this time, there is not a way to stop voicemails from coming through.

I am wanting to stop these voicemails from coming in.  The people that are calling me are scammers and they have no "list" to be taken off of.  This is coming from the same number and I am getting 1 voicemail per hour.  Please tell me how to make this stop!!!!

Block the 10-digit number in your MyVerizon account from calling you, or change your number so they can't call you going forward.

Hello, chadnrandall. I totally understand your concern over unwanted calls. We're here to help. May I ask how did you block these calls? Did you block them on your phone, or by using an app?

No current system will fight this. As everyone knows, these spammers change their outgoing number. You could block 2,000 numbers and the calls will come from other numbers. I get calls marked as coming from Chicago. It's always a different number and the voicemails are always gibber jabber in Chinese. These spammers should learn english if they want to spam us. You gotta love globalization and diversity. Another good thing gone bad!

Sorry ChristineK_VZW, but robo calls are Not called from different numbers.  Calls made over a digital product have "source information" and "destination information".  Robo/Computer dialers change part of the source information which contains the Caller ID to make you think the call came from a local area code.  The rest of the source information contains private data that identifies who is actually making the call and that is what Verizon and AT&T are hiding.  This is the information we demand be available to the public so these scammers can be arrested.

Can you really believe we can send two robots to Mars, drive them around, take pictures and send the pictures back to Earth, but yet, Verizon cannot tell us who is making the calls?  If so, I have beach front property in Arizona I would like to sell you.

When I was with AT&T, I talked to an engineer who confirmed the 'source information' and he said it was flagged as 'private' so be could not tell me who was calling me 10 times a day.  When I pressed the issue and sent e-mails to AT&T threatening to sue, I received a letter from the law department stating they don't have that information and it would be useless to sue.

Same question, would you believe a hardware/software engineer, or would you believe a lawyer?
