SIM Card Problem

I received my iPhone 5s in the mail today and as I was doing the setup it said that there is no SIM card and won't let me continue until one is placed in the phone. However, the customer receipt says that a pre-installed SIM card is included. Also, the SIM card tray won't open. Help?

Hello Smebner711! Congrats on your new iPhone 5s! That's a great phone! Here's a helpful link w/ instructions how to remove the sim card try to confirm a sim card is indeed inserted in the phone: http://spr.ly/6581BEpmf If you use the end of a paperclip and insert it gently into the sim card slot (little circle), and press gently till it ejects.
