Placing a number on a hold for foreign military contractor employment

Good afternoon.

I have called into Verizon, was unable to have this situation addressed. I have been hired to work as a contractor for the military for the next year and a half. I am at the end of my contract, but I would prefer to place my number on hold while I am out here as there is no cell service at all. None. So, I would like to find a way to either pay a holding fee, or somehow suspend my account without having to

end service with Verizon. I was told that since I am not directly in the military, and just working with them I am not qualified for military suspension. Please let me know any possibilities. I would like to work with Verizon, but I need to be met halfway. Thanks in advance.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
