I put my phone in my cup holder in my car this morning and didn't know there was water in it. I don't have insurance on my phone. I kept my phone in oatmeal while I was at work and now charging it. It is taking a charge but none of the buttons work to call or check messages or text - can't do anything. Anybody able to give me some suggestions?

Take the battery back out and dry it for 24-48 more hours in rice, cat litter or something else absorbent. If it doesn't work after that, your phone is fried and you'll need to replace it by using an upgrade, paying full price, or getting a used phone from a non-Verizon source.

do as the other poster suggested. ive had this happen to me twice. one time the phone was fine, the other... well it worked, but the phone was never quite right after that. it can go either way. but if you pugged it in and turned it on and there was still moisture, the damage may already be done. good luck
