Why all of a sudden my Wifi using more data, can someone in the area be using my signal?
That's always a possibility. Change your password.
Might you have unnecessary filters inhibiting your data stream? It could also be that there are other people in our local area slowing down data transfer. If your wifi, or bluetooth are on without you using them there could also be passive data transfer between your device and other local devices trying to actively or passively connect
