That is incorrect.

She would have to be listed on the account and know the account password and or be able to verify everything else. Once that is done she can do almost anything including change the plan. Which, if she did, oh well. She has the authority to do so.

Listen I am not the account owner but last fall I was able to upgrade a line at the local store. I even told them that I wasn't the account owner. Of course the account name being female also would gave it away. They ask me if I knew the last 4 of the SS number of the account owner I gave it to them and they let me proceed.

If you have her listed as an account manager on  your account, she can do everything except change the password or add/remove other account managers. If she setup a plan change, it would be legit and the unlimited data feature would be gone, unable to be added back on.

Was she listed as an account manager? That is different then the account owner.

If she agreed to the change and is listed then it is what it is. She was offered a plan and accepted.  That is the change we are asking about.  You should have put that info in the orginal post. I am sorry, but you will never get it back. Sorry! Enjoy your new carrier if you switch. Make sure you keep an eye on whoever is on your account, so you do not get into this issue again. This is not Verizon issue, it is your sisters.

With all that being said, ohplease99, are you sure you are not listed as an account manager.  If you made changes without being on the account, then the female account holder can sue verizon for freud.

Then that was incorrect procedure, which should be investigated.

My point is it happens.

Our point is that is freud and there would be a really big case if it really happened like you said it did.

For the first time ever, I received a note that I was approaching the limits of my data plan. I was shocked given that I have always been on an unlimited data plan and refuse to change it. I called Verizon customer service (one of the most useless departments ever, assuming you can actually get through) and found out that my plan had been changed three times in the past 6 months -- never by me or with my approval. I am the only one on my account.

It's clear that Verizon wants to get rid of unlimited data -- every time you go into a Verizon store, they practically beg you to change to one of their "Better Plans". But I've always steadfastly refused. Apparently, Verizon has now started simply changing plans without any consent or notification. I understand that technically they can change plans. But to not even notify me? That's ridiculous.

Yes, had I not received a data overage notice I would have had no idea that my plan was changed.

I can understand that mistakes are made.  But then they should be fixed, and mine has not been.

Despite the time lost to dealing with it I would have been happy to leave it at that if they had fixed their error.  The customer service reps all agreed it was clearly a mistake, and that the change should be undone.  They tried to cancel the change as it had been less than a day since it was made...  that did not work for some reason.  Then they tried submitting requests to restore the account...it was supposed to be fixed in couple of days...I followed up...more requests were submitted...more waiting...more follow up....on and on....  Apparently it has become a war of attrition?  I don't know if that was the intent, but if Verizon continues to battle their customers rather than help them, customers are going to stop funding that war.

Yup, that's the way Verizon customer service works. They will tell you anything on the phone, and then do absolutely nothing. I've been tracking how many times I've been lied to or deliberately misled by Verizon, and it's remarkable.
