Long term suspension of service?
erockwood
Newbie

I'm moving overseas (Ireland) for a year and am just wondering how this would work? Obviously when I move back, I'd like to continue my service/keep my number/etc. and my phone isn't paid off completely yet, but is there a way for me to suspend my service for a year without paying for more than the monthly cost of the phone itself? It doesn't make sense for me to continue paying my monthly plan when I'm not going to be using Verizon while I'm gone. Would I just have to cancel my plan and leave Verizon? I don't even know how that would work...

Any advice would be much appreciated!

erockwood, the Verizon family would not be the same without you. Knowing all of your options for going overseas is important. I will be glad to outline some options for you. For line suspensions, we are not able to fully waive the cost of service, although we do provide suspension options for a reduced rate for up to 90 days. https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/suspend-service-faqs/. In addition, we offer international features that are available for Ireland as well: https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/international-travel/. Please let me know if this helps.
