Lied to by Verizon rep

Just before Thanksgiving I received a call on my home phone from Hope at their SouthField Michigan Branch telling me what a great deal they had on new phones, and that I should act now instead of going to the Verizon store.  After I was on the phone for over a hour, Hope promised me that my total bill would be $227.00 a month before taxes.  When I received my first bill it was $332.00.  After 7 calls to Verizon customer service pleading with them to play back the recorded call and have them honor the promise of their sales rep Hope.  After the 7th call, and many hours being on hold, I was finally connected to a supervisor who told me that they would not honor the agreement that their sales rep Hope made and that they were unable to play back the recorded call.  I have been a customer of Verizon for over 10 years and in that time I have never had a problem and have always paid my bill on time.  I am not one to complain, but this is horrible, how do you outright lie to a loyal customer of over 10 years then refuse to do anything for them to make it right.  I would look at any other phone provider then Verizon and will be taking my business elsewhere.

My first bill was 422.00 when I ask why they said it was for taxes on phones.  The problem is that I was lied to, this is not about plans it is about Hope telling me my total before taxes would be 227.00 and it is 322.00. Talk to a supervisor named John after 7 calls and he tells me they cannot play the call back.  This has been going on since December. 7 calls and everyone says we will get back to you after we listen to the call, never a call back.

Today was told there was nothing they could do.

You still refuse to offer basic information. don't expect help if you refuse to comply with simple request.

My plan is the same as it has always been its the more every unl tlk&txt 15 GB plan.  When Hope called me I told her I wanted to cut my bill because I was paying $278.00/month I was told that she had a promotion that would cut my bill to $227.00 plus tax and I would get two new phones and a IPAD.  I told her that I didn't need a IPAD but Hope told me it was part of the promotion.  After receiving my first bill and seeing that it was much higher then what I was originally paying, I called and was told that they would replay the call and that it could take several days and that they would call me back.  It took 7 calls in total and many hours to finally get ahold of a supervisor (John) who then informed me that they have no way of playing back the recorded call (which means the four people who told me they would replay it were more then likely lying to brush me off) and not only could he not honor Hopes so called promotion but that I could not even return the IPAD that I didn't even need or want!  So now I'm stuck with a much larger bill then I had before (which I was trying to decrease) but I was lied to several times.  This is not the way you do business!

Are you on the edge program? When you are on the edge program, you are given a $25 credit per month towards your bill.  (i.e. $278-$227= $51 less), so that is basically what was offered.  On top of that you would have your edge payments for both phone and your ipad (depending on if you paid that on a 2 year service aggreement or that is billed per month towards your account).

The reason no one is helping is becouse Hope gave you correct info. You did not read your terms and conditions and add up your equiptment cost on the bill.  When you see your bill (if you look at it) do you see a line for equiptment charges. I bet you do.  That is your edge program.

I am sorry, but hope was right here.

You bought 2 new phones and an iPad and thought your bill would go DOWN.

WHen I buy expensive electronics, that together cost about $2,000, I expect I will get charged MORE.  Which is exactly what happened.

I tend to get suspicious as soon as I get a cold call offering me a deal I can't refuse....

Rule #1. NOBODY calls you to save you money. The only reason a company pays someone to call you and make an offer is so the company can make more money from you.
