If I am a canadian traveller, can i just buy just 1 month tablet prepaid plan ? (like the 40$ 4GB)

I'm going to United States for 9 days from Vermont to Virginia. I'm thinking about keeping my canadian plan with my cellphone and use it, but I'd like to know if its possible to bring my own iPad LTE and activate it for only 1 month with verizon with the 40$ 4GB plan ?

The tablet plan is less expensive than my canadian plan so I hope this can work for 1 month.
