Anyone know of a cheaper plan w unlimited text, and shared minutes. Were paying about 120.oo a month, only 2 phones, 700 minutes shared, unlimited text, is that the best they offer.

T-Mobile or a regional carrier is your best bet if you want cheap.

Boost mobile has $50 for unlimited talk, text and web per phone but they have shrinkage so you can reduce your payment by $5/month for every six on-time payments, up to $15/month in total so eventually you would only be paying $35 a month per phone for unlimited every thing providing you pay on time every month.  Have talked to a few people that have this and they seem to like it but have no acutal experience how the coverage is.  Mary

Just look at Sprints map. They piggy back off Sprint.

Thanks, I didn't know that and have never had sprint only verizon but the boost deals are certainly good if the service works.  Mary

thanks, but I was really wanting to know of any Verizons plans that would be cheaper for me. Have a year left on my 2yr contract. can change within verizon.

Any suggestions there, the reps must work on commission, or what they assume is best for me.. us... Thanks for that other info also...

You can drop down to a lower plan no problem.  The lowest you can see is the lowest they have.

700 shared minutes is the lowest tier for family plans; the only way to lower the amount you pay is to reduce the texting.  Unlimited is $30; if each line can get by with 1000 texts or less, you can cut $10 (add a $10/1000 text bundle to each line).  If you need the unlimited, then you are already on the lowest plan - $100 for call and text, and assorted taxes and fees to arrive at the $120 (if you have insurance you may consider dropping it, but that's up to you).

2 words. Loyalty plan.

Not much cheaper, and there are some catches. Call up and ask for a lower plan. If they say you're on the lowest plan, you're not. Ask about the Loyalty Plan.

The catch is that there is no texting included, so you would have to get seperate packages. Currently the only text package VZW offers is $10/1000 txts.

The family share loyalty plan is $59.99 for 550 anytime minutes and unlimited nights & weekends and mobile to mobile.

But, would this be cost effective considering that you would have to add text packages?

The NW talk&text 700 is actually a really good plan.

When I was with sprint, I paid $90 a month for unlimited everything. Sounds good, right? No. I travel all over Wisconsin quite frequently. I had service with Sprint maybe 10% of the time. My father has Verizon.. The service never skipped a beat.

Unlimited text messaging? Yeah that worked fine.

Unlimited data? Psh. You can get unlimited data... But when you reach a certain threshold, you will be throttled.

Verizon does not resort to throttling. At least not unless you use over 10GB in a HIGH TRAFFIC area like NYC or LA.

So, it's kind of up to you. Quality comes at a price.
