Got Messed Over By A Verizon Rep

Alright, here is my issue.

In April of 2016 I went to a store in Metairie, Louisiana where I added a friend to my line. This was during the promotional period and I got an iPad Air 2. A representative named James [Removed], (who turned out to be a support specialist) helped me add my friend. He then told me I could finance accessories and the extra phone for 24 months. I found out this was not true in itself. So I am now being charged 1300 dollars by Verizon because I thought I could just pay monthly (like payment plans except just pay a little extra) and it would disappear. Nope. Not happening. The taxes on the item were paid and then the full amount of the accessories dropped on me. It was around 500 dollars in accessories. A lifeproof case, screen protector, case for the ipad with a keyboard as well. So I tried to do payment plans and it just wouldn't work. Then I finally caught myself and realized this was a mistake by Verizon and not me. Unhonorable people who lie and con to get a bonus check isn't something I can control, and that is the truth. So why am I trying to pay for something that isn't mine?

So let me tell you my course of action over the months.

I have called Verizon NUMEROUS of times.

Everytime I call, I get transferred to Financial Services of course. I explain to them my issue. I then get told they can't do anything except take a payment of 680 dollars to restore services.

I get transferred to retention and get told I need to pay 390 dollars to get services restored.

I get transferred to customer service and get told they can't justify crediting my account. Because they just can't.

Its always the same thing. Asking me for a payment. You know what happened, you KNOW and understand that its wrong that he lied, yet you still tell me to pay for it?

I even tried to cancel service and it was 2000 dollars to LEAVE Verizon. I'm in a box and nobody is helping me. I'm just being asked for more money every time i call Verizon. Even when I call and not talk to anyone "To make a payment please press 1" its like that is their priority. And it showed in this rep and his actions. He got his bonus check. I'm sitting here being told I have to either pay 1300 dollars or 2000. I just feel like they don't care enough. and its saddening. Is there anyway I can talk to someone who understand and will actually HELP? I'm tired of talking to people who just wanna make a check.

I know how you feel. My bt my boyfriend and I got these tablets when he took his phone and to try to get it unlocked and they talked him into a service and told us that they would give him a trade in on his phone because it was a prepaid Verizon and talked him into the Galaxy S7 which he couldn't afford and now he's got as an S7 and gear and two tablets that he has to pay on every month and she charged him 300 and some odd dollars that day that I don't even know what that was for it wasn't listed on his first bill or anything so I'm pretty sure she ripped him off and he's afraid to go in and say anything to them I'm going to do it for him pretty quick it's ridiculous what they talk you into and then they don't they don't follow through with what they said they were going to do they get you all wrapped up with the with the product and you forget what they originally told you they were going to do for you I think Verizon's a huge rip off

Sad thing is, I like Verizon. The service is amazing to me.

I just wish they would own up to their screw ups. I also wish the business model wasn't so centered around asking for a payment. You've got more ways to make a payment than actually help customers.

Then on top of that, I can't even contact higher management about the issue. I'm left with "we will review this" but you still have to pay us to use your services. As much as I don't want to, a switch to Sprint is sounding alot safer for me.

Why did you buy all of that stuff? You cannot make payments on accessories. ONLY devices. Sounds like you charged the price of the accessories ($500 seems excessive for accessories) to your bill. That is always due at time of sale (or when your bill is due). Never able to make payments on that stuff. Plus, they will make payment arrangements with you but if you carry ANY balance for more than 90 days they will shut you off.

Because I was told that I COULD finance it all for 24 months. I now know that you cannot do that as of now. But before, he told me it was indeed possible. If I was told the correct information, I wouldn't of been in that situation.

As of today though the situation has been handled it seems and I am reconnected and paying what I was supposed to be paying. But the whole journey with this was stressing and upsetting and I find it really sickening I had to fight to get this fixed.
