I am trying to forward a voicemail from my phone to another Verizon phone number on my account. One done listening to the voicemail, I press 0 for more options, then 6 to send to another user. I then enter the number to forward to, I hear the voicemail name greeting of the person that has that phone number, so I know I'm getting the number correct. I record a greeting the message and send it, but it never appears in the other person's mailbox. The other line has no trouble getting voicemails normally, but not these forwarded messages.
What is wrong?
Thanks ahead!

Got it! Help is here. With the voicemail forwarding, this feature isn't available for basic voicemail. You're following the steps perfectly. The feature just isn't compatible with basic voicemail. Hope that helps.

ep159 we'll pinpoint the issue and find the best option! What device make/model do you have? Do you have Basic or Visual Voicemail?

Thanks AshleyS.
I'm using a Droid Maxx, and I have basic voicemail. I repeated the problem just now, with these exact steps:
Call Voicemail
Enter Password
0 for more options
6 to send a copy to someone else
record intro and press #
enter destination number and #
I hear the voicemail box intro from the destination number (my wife's voice intro, which is correct).
press # to send message.
press * for no more destinations
press 9 to save message in archive
Hangup.
No message is ever received at my wife's number, which also happens to be on my same verizon account.
Thanks!

I know this is a stupid, and probably rhetorical, question, but if forwarding VM is not allowed, WHY THE HECK does the system even provide that option?

On my VM setup (basic) I choose option 2 (Send) after entering my password. Then:
Record intro, press #
Enter phone to forward to, press #
Press # again to actually send the message
Press * or hang up.
There are options given to listen to the messages to ensure they are correct - and I may have mixed up the order of entering the ph to forward to and the intro message, but basically you enter each part, followed by the #, then one final # to send it. This is all after pressing 2 at the initial VM prompt.
As elliew said, if this is not allowed, why is the option even there? It would seem odd (and misleading) to allow you to go through all the steps and simply not send it at the end.
