Extra charges when switching from Cincinnati Bell

Switching to Verizon has proved to create the extra wireless surcharges we hope to escape from previous wireless providers. After spending over an hour wait in the store to be served, then informed our Sony Xperia's (less than 1 year old) were not supported on the Verizon network and had to buy new phones, and repeatedly assured by the verizon rep we would NOT see extra charges on our first bill.  After coming home we checked our "estimated" bill for total charges, fees, surcharges, activation, taxes details for our two HTC One phones...$95.58...OVER & ABOVE THE HUNDREDS WE ALREADY PAID!!!  None of this was explained to us ahead of time and we feel totally screwed. Now we're stuck for the next 2 years. Apple is sounding better and better all the time.
