This is the second time my bill has reflected a $5.00 late charge for last month's bill not being paid. I am now switching back to paper billing because my electronic payments are not being acknowledged by Verizon. They have a huge glitch in their system but they have no way to contact them. As a long time Verizon subscriber, I am ready to switch to a different carrier. Very poor customer service!!!!!!

are you processing payment online with your bank or on V site? how are you posting payment?
late fee apply only if payment was made but was not received by due date....

I Believe they are making payments through their banks website and not Verizon's. The bank website has a waiting period. if the OP wishes to switch carriers over it then.....

in that case it explain why late fee is getting charged. OP might want to do payment 5 working days earlier than due date (exclude holiday and weekend)....
