The edge plan is OK if you want the latest and greatest phone available. But is it really worth it? One thing I did was I edged out a note 3 which is an awesome phone, if you don't mind the bulk of it. What I thought about doing at the time was paying my plan IE agreement off and selling the note 3 online. Now I got 600.00 for the phone on eBay and paid 590ish for the edge plan. So was it worth the hassle? I don't think so. You better off with a contract because the phone is cheaper and lets face it, new phones only pop out once a year and they are always better each year. What I didn't realize is if you do the edge program and have paid off your phone agreement you still have to wait 6 months after to upgrade at a contract price. You can do what I had to do at the time and buy a new phone at full retail but in my opinion that's a waste of money. You learn from your mistakes. I'd like to know what you think of this? I'm also curious to see what term of service I violated as the moderator loves to cut out bits and pieces on my posts. Where do you sign up to be a moderator?

I agree that Edge is likely not a good deal for most users.
There are better ways to get new devices. It might work out well for some, but I don't think it will work out well for most users.

Just blows my mind, I can't get over why the retail person didn't say oh by the way before you do this you have to wait 6 months..

A little research might have helped your situation.

You could have done it on your iPhone while still at the store.

Well obviously but it's too late to shove that in my face. The retail associate should have mentioned it to me at the time. RIGHT?

I would say that it is the customer's responsibility to know the terms of the contractual agreements into which they are entering.
