Early upgrade, (Switching from unlimited to capped data?) 4g LTE

Okay so I originally had a Droid 3 on the unlimited data plan, (blackberry tour before that).  I was grandfathered into the unlimited data plan, my Droid 3 was having the same issues everyone else's had so I got rid of it and switched to an HTC Thunderbolt.  My HTC thunderbolt is stuck on the single "HTC" screen while booting up, it constantly buzzes and loads the same page over and over again.  Many people have been posting this issue all over verizon, and HTC support alike yet nothing has been done to help me and it doesn't appear it will be.

So my main question is would Verizon be willing to upgrade my line early, If I give up my grandfathered unlimited data for a capped data plan.  IMO it seems like it would be a smart business move to get as many people as possible off of their unlimited data as that is the companies plan, and if I had any say as a company I would allow it just to cap data.  So what are my chances of getting an upgraded if I explain to a supervisor I will sign off of the unlimited data I currently have for capped data.

I went to a store to do my wife's upgrade, and mine was due 3 day later, and they would not let me do it, I even told them that I had a NE2 credit coming since it was still there the last time I upgraded, and that they could keep the $$ from that just to let me.

  Nope....

Now, others have said that they have been allowed to do an earlier than normal upgrade by extending their contract 2 years past their upgrade date..

I guess it would depend on how long you had to go before you are scheduled for the upgrade?

Calling customer service would be a better option. Depends on a lot of things like your bill amount per month and how long you've been with them.

If you aren't using more than 2gb a month, it wouldn't be all that beneficial to vz in the end,

Our monthly bill is almost 250$ /month , I have been on unlimited data since the blackberry tour in 2009.

Master reset the device and all will be good.

And no, they will not allow you to upgrade early. Why?? Because you will have to give up your unlimited data when the upgrade date hits anyways, so you are not offering anything to VZW.

How do you correctly master-reset? I believe I have done so , and it still

only loads the first screen over and over again.

If you can not get to the menus to do the reset, turn the unit on while holding the down volume button, you will be presented with a menu, you can do it from that menu.

I had the same issue with my Incredible about a year ago....robot loop. This process allowed me to set the device to original settings and start over.

I just want to make sure, once you highlight the Master Rest Option by using the volume buttons, are you using the power button to choose it? Don't press and hold the power button, just press and release

@ Azsaluki, any ideas? It always worked for me in the past
