I recently upgraded from and IPhone 4 to an IPhone 5 three weeks ago. With my IPhone 4 I was able to make and receive calls in my home and the reception was good anywhere in the house. With my new IPhone 5 I usually have just 1 bar and no matter where I stand in the house the reception is awful. I can hear one or two words the per sentence from the person I am talking to. If I do have 2 bars I can sit perfectly still in the same chair facing the same direction and watch the bars drop to one in a matter of seconds. I went to the Verizon Wireless store where I bought the IPhone 5 and asked about this and their only suggestion was to get an extender, which is not cheap. Three weeks ago, I didn't need an extender. My house hasn't moved so why is my phone service so much worse?

Roaming agreements change, trees bloom, more people using the towers (population), made made structures... yes, they can change.

Also the i5 may not have as good an antenna as the 4 had.
