YYou may not be able to fix what you think is broken with Verizon, but that doesn't mean bouncing around.

I left Verizon with 2 of my lines and went to Sprint. So far no problems, Plus unlimited data for my teenagers.:)

I don't understand the deal with having to have unlimited data with teens. I have 6 gig shared between my husband, myself, and our 16-year-old (who is always on his phone). My son knows if he goes over, he pays. That happened once, and he then turned off data for the apps that were gobbling it up, and is on wifi at home. I have no need or desire for unlimited data, WITH a teenager who is very attached to his iPhone.

You taught him limits and control. Good job being a parent.

We have 5 lines with 12 gig. Both kids in college. The wifi in one college was terrible, My son was doing research using his data. Each month we had to add more. Well I have 3 more years of him going there. The school says they are working on fixing the problem,we will see. We are a family that has phone Laws.. No phones at dinner table, no phones when we are at a family or friends house if we visit. When out to dinner you will never see us or kids with phones out. I think I did a good job!!!

IF more parents patented there would be a whole lot less posts about family safeguards, blocks, etc.

This was posted by Verizon Customer Support Personnel on another thread:

If you're currently on the MORE Everything plan and change to The Verizon Plan you will lose any promotional data that's on your account. However, if you're simply increasing or decreasing your data allowance, the bonus data will remain on your account until it expires."

It's pretty much an unspoken policy .... (but it is actually it is listed numerous places throughout your contract, agreement, this website, verizonwireless.com, promo ads, in store, etc.) ... that when you make certain changes to your account, that "CHANGES" other things. I get they told you "forever" ... but nothing is FOREVER, that's common sense. So, you get to keep your 2GB promo data even if you leave Verizon? UM NO!! So see it's NOT "FOREVER".

If you look up "forever" in the dictionary, it doesn't say anything about "keeping data" either.  JUST SAYING!

90% of cell phone service providers follow the same guidelines / procedures / policies, unless you have a prepaid service.

Maybe you should look into switching to "THE NEW VERIZON PLAN 30GB", I did, just this week, I'm now getting 5 more GB of data, for less $$$ - made no sense not to switch!

  • PREVIOUS PLAN - THE VERIZON PLAN 25GB = $175.00
  • NEW PLAN - THE NEW VERIZON PLAN 30GB = $135.00

Also, you are NOT the only customer that pays A LOT for multiple lines of service!! However, I think it is more than worth it!! Actually $500 is a little high for 5 lines with XXL data - which is what 18GB? I have 5 lines, 30GB shared data, 3 lines with insurance, 3 monthly device payments, plus a couple of add-on monthly feature charges - and I do NOT pay $500 / month. Maybe you have extras??

So does anyone know If you change from the Verizon plan to the new Verizon plan L or larger can you keep your 2gbs for life now that they are running the 2gb promo again. The FAQ question section about the Verizon plan seems to say yes.

No. The promotional data from the previous plan will not carryover into the new plans.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
