Thanks for the insight, Degausser. Did your friend have a similar issue with the device when he/she was using the phone?

My friend did not have these issue with the phone. He bought it brand
new in box and really only used it for two weeks. Then he ordered a
MotoX to replace this phone as he found it too large.

So the phone was not brand new. It was used. Thanks for confirming.

I still would like to know what is to be done about this. I've heard
nothing. This is not how you run a company.

Get a new sim and try again. I also told you that if it's a phone issue it's not under warranty. YOU said you're well knowledgable in this.

Are you a representative of Verizon? Do you control their backhaul and how ECP connects and lowers the data so I can send an SMS? Unfortunately I cannot control that either. THAT'S why I am here. It's a new phone, worked fine before my account, it's a new SIM both have been verified in store that they are in working order. I am looking for answers and to raise these issues with Verizon themselves.

This is a peer to peer message board. Call Verizon from a different phone or go back to the store. It's pretty cut and dry.

A few things to look at and to try (and they may or may not help, but it certainly can't hurt to try!).
Check the network settings, and ensure that LTE/CDMA is selected, NOT Global or GSM.
Is cellular data turned on? (Obvious, I know, but just checking....)
You said you had an iPhone prior to this - is it turned completely off, disconnected from the network and disassociated from your iMessages and iTunes account? You my have to go into iTunes and remove the device from your account.
Is this a new Verizon account, or an established account and you are simply changing phones?
