I just upgraded my device to a device payment plan. During the checkout process there was an option to trade in my existing device for Verizon credit, which I declined to do. Now I have received an email from Verizon stating that I need to return my old device to avoid a non-return fee. I looked back at the documents for the purchase and there was nothing stating that I would have to return the old device. Nothing was included with the new phone to return the old one.
Were you done with your previous contract or was this an early upgrade? If you were not done with your previous contract, you must send in your previous device to satisfy the contract. Otherwise you will get charged $199.
