Deceptive Sales tactics

I recently switched my plan to a customer loyalty plan after I clarified with the representative that my corporate discount would apply to the new plan. He assured me it would, but after one billing cycle I noticed that the discount was not on the bill. I called, and found out that the discount was not applicable. Besides getting suckered into a 1-year contract (which the representative only mentioned toward the end of the call) I would end up having to pay more money...how is that for a customer loyalty plan? The idea of customer loyalty implies that I get extra benefits for being a long term customer, if I have to pay extra then that's just what any customer could do, pay more, get more.

In the end I was on the phone back and forth with another rep for 75 minutes to revert my plan back to the no-text/voice only month-to-month plan that I originally had. Seems like it would be a whole lot easier just to give me the discount since that's what they said I'd be given to begin with. And interestingly, my phone is now on roaming all the time. Doesn't matter apparently because it's a nationwide plan anyway but after all that my phone plan isn't actually back to the way it was. I'm seriously considering leaving Verizon after all these years, feels like I was back stabbed.

Very very disappointing.

Most employee discounts require the plan it is applied to be at least a minimum dollar amount. Did this loyalty plan fall below that threshold?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Changing your plan to a loyalty plan would not affect when your device goes into roaming.  That is completely ulrelated.

No, it did not. The threshold is $34.99, this plan was $35 so it met that criteria.

I understand that. It's that when they switched me back, it was in roaming. But now it seems to be working fine. That's a separate issue, I probably should've left that out so as not to confuse anyone. The main issue is Verizon would not honor the corporate discount even after they said it was applicable.
