I attempted to lower my bill by switching to 8g data plan. If i switch from unlimited to an 8g line fee then i am charged a line fee of $20/per phone. So you dont really save that much. Plus I am not able to customize my plan so i have unlimited on 1 device but not others. It is frustrating as I don’t believe the data packages are geared towards customer service, it is geared towards Verizon making more money. I get it that it is a business, but I am sure they are not hurting.
Just a few frustrations.
I don't get the purpose of this thread.
20 dollar line charge has been around before Verizon reintroduced unlimited data.
You can have 1 line on unlimited and one on a fixed data package, it's just not practical.
Let's say you have 2 lines and you want Unlimited on 1, the single 5GB on the other. That's one bill for $80 and another for $60. If both we're on the same bill, you can get 2 lines on Go Unlimited for $70 each due to automatic line discount.
If anything Verizon is giving you more for having multiple lines on unlimited data vs limiting them.

Well you had to know posting this thread was going to get you teased. Yes, the newer plans are MORE EXPENSIVE than old plans. It’s a ‘For Profit’ business.
In the past 3 years the “cell wars” ended between At&t and Verizon. From 2014 till 2016 they were really pushing each other with service price competition, data perks, etc. That’s done, and prices are going up again.
If you have $15 line access, hang on to it. I have my family on the same priced plan on At&t and a discount, so pay $168 for 5 lines with 20 gigs.
If you want to keep Verizon and save money, consider using prepaid. I have 1 line on Verizon prepaid and have been pleased with the service for the price. The only thing I miss is visual voicemail.
