DON'T BUY VERIZON GIFT CARDS

I'll try to be as brief a possible: I bought a verizon gift card back in march. I went to apply it to my bill and it did not work, it said it was invalid. I did a search on here and it seems that many others have had this issue. Cut to 2 different CS agents and about an hour of my life and I was told I would get a credit to my account and that the card would either be activated or I would be sent a new one. I did get a credit to my account but nothing was corrected on the card and I wasn't sent a new one. They said they would do it "later" which is strange but whatever.

Anyways, it just seems to me that something funky is going on and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a big issue with their people stealing gift cards. It is the only thing that makes sense as to why I and others would be sent invalid gift cards and forced to call and then given a manual credit which means what I paid for is just floating around and someone either used it or it was just wasted, now twice! It all just seems very shady to me and I wanted to warn others not to make that mistake until they address what is going on.

You got a credit on your account. Anything beyond that is greed.

I had the same problem...

I purchased a 100 dollar verizon gift card on the Verizon website very easily.

I then gave it as a gift to a relative only for them to find out the gift card was invalid.

It took about three hours of misinformation and call transfers from about four or five different branches of customer service before I could get to any one who actually knew what to do.

Once they acknowledged that there was a problem it then took another three days for them to correct the problem.

Verizon customer service is the worst. They definitely need to train their customer service personnel regarding GIft card issues
