Hello, I'm grandfathered into the old unlimited data useage plan, which I'd prefer for obvious reasons to keep. I pay for two (2) smart phones and two (2) regular phones and my bill is large enough already. I'm a light user, mind you, but sometimes my data useage on the two smart phones move into what would be considered the second tier on a tiered plan and my phone bill is already high enough.
I'd like to drop the mobile hotspot feature on one (1) of my smartphones as my employeer has provided me with a smartphone with this feature that I can use when needed. Trust me, I'm tempted to just loose my personan phone all together... BUT here's the question..
If I drop the hotspot feature from my personal smartphone, will that action force me into the tired data plan contract somehow in some fine print little VZW gotcha?
Thanks in advance.

No it will not. The only time it is affected is when you switch to a basic phone over a smartphone.

Thanks tidbits. I didn't think so but I didn't want to mess myself up. Now, my only quandary is to cancel today and hope to get a prorated refund on the partial unused fee or just wait until the end of the already paid billing cycle.... and yes I have initiated in inquiry with VZW by email but they are very slow to respond to emails.

You could always call them at 1 800 922 0204 and have it done during the call.
