Cell signal has gone downhill

In my area the cell signal from Verizon has gone downhill in the last 3 months to the point that the service is a complete aggravation. It is not just my phones as everyone I know has this problem here. I have done all the updates and everything the techs have suggested. We used to have very good coverage in this area but something has changed and Verizon really doesn't care. I am sick and tired of a Verizon tech who says "I understand your frustration" and then in the next sentence says " we will let you out of your contract at no cost". Why the hell don't you just fix the service to the level it was 3 months ago and learn something about customer service.
