Hi, I have a share anything plan with 5 lines. All lines are basic phones, 4 lines are month to month and one line is under contract. I would like to cancel the 4 lines which are no longer under contract so I can move to t-mobile, and I am wondering what that will do to the remaining line?

nothing. cancelling a line does not affect another line. The line will stay how it is.

Hi kregan7,
You are a valued customer! And I'd like to know why would you consider moving from http://vz.to/13N0B6O our superior network? Are you experiencing any service issues? Please share some details and we'll be happy to address and resolve so that you don't have to downgrade your wireless service. Cancelling your lines that are no longer under contract will not affect your remaining line of service in any way. You will continue to have unlimited calls and texts for your remaining line and you will be the only one using the data on your plan.

Once you remove the other 4 lines from your share everything plan that would eliminate each line access fee per device so for basic phones that is $30 so $120 less a month.
You might want to look into the 700 minute share plan with $10 for 1,000 texts it should run around $50 before state tax

So essentially cancelling the two phones that are no longer under contract (now month-to-month) would only drop my bill about $60? The 3rd phone contract is up in March. The 4th phone contract is up in Dec 2014. We would like to switch to smartphones but the total bill would be astronomical. We are looking at some low-cost month-to-month carriers right now. I am hesitant to drop coverage for the two month to month phones until the 4th phone's contract is up. What to do....

Which plan are you currently on? Are the phones all basic phones or are some smartphones?

If you are on a Share Everything plan, then yes, dropping two basic phones would reduce your bill by $60 + tax. If you're on a Nationwide plan, dropping two basic phones would reduce your bill by $19.98 + tax.
